I am a backend engineer, based in Paris. For more than ten years I have built and run services that carry heavy traffic: the search and recommendation services at Meetic, the platform behind 30+ services at Le Figaro, the ingestion and reporting APIs at AB Tasty. Mostly Go and PHP, on Kubernetes, on GCP and AWS.
What I like is the point where the volume changes the design.

I build the backend services and APIs behind data ingestion and reporting, in Go, inside the Core Data team. They ingest large volumes of data and answer reporting queries over it in near real time. ClickHouse and BigQuery for storage, Bigtable and DynamoDB, Pub/Sub and SQS between the services, GKE and Terraform underneath.
Senior Backend Engineer - Meetic · September 2021 to June 2024
I worked on the search and recommendation services at the core of the group’s dating applications. Backend microservices in PHP/Symfony and Scala, serving more than 25 million requests a day across Meetic, DisonsDemain and Even, in more than 20 countries. Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL and Cassandra behind them, on Kubernetes. I took part in the design, the development and the testing.
Lead Backend Engineer - Le Figaro / CCM Benchmark · July 2017 to July 2021 (Backend Engineer there from September 2012)
Lead developer of a team of four. We built and ran the APIs and web applications behind 30+ services published across the group’s sites: Le Figaro, Le Journal du Net, Le Journal des Femmes, Linternaute. More than 300 million page views in 2020, with peaks of 150,000 concurrent users. Feeding them, an end-to-end platform that extracted, cleaned, normalised and enriched public data. PHP/Symfony, MariaDB, RabbitMQ and RDF graph stores queried in SPARQL.

Open source #
jQuery Mapael: a library for interactive vector maps. I built it in 2013 and maintained it until 2018: releases, issues, pull requests and questions from the people using it. It has 1k+ stars on GitHub and is still downloaded around 75,000 times a month, eight years after the last release. The documentation is here.
TextGenerator: a PHP package that generates written text from structured data, using a template language with variables, conditions, loops and randomised phrasing.
